The RS232 option module adds industry standard RS232 communications capability to the Optidrive.
The RS232 interface board converts optical signals to electrical signals compliant with RS232 specification. Intelligent communication is achieved using the Optibus protocol.
Control Terminal Arrangement (default)
Applications for RS232 include:
- Connection of a PC to a network of up to 63 Optidrives
- Connection of a PC for use with Optistore for configuration, control or data-logging
- Connection of Satlink for remote access via a GSM mobile phone network
