The RS485 interface board converts optical signals to electrical signals compliant with 2 or 4 wire RS485 specification. Intelligent communication is achieved using the Optibus protocol.
Applications for RS485 include:
- Connections of multi-point Optidrive networks, particularly where distances between drives are greater than 1-3m
- Connection of Optiport where distance is greater than 3m
